Step 1 - Sign up

Step 2 - Receive your welcome letter

Keep an eye on your emails and post
Within a few days of signing up to Co-operative Energy, we’ll send you a welcome letter via your preferred communication method.

There’s no need to tell your existing energy supplier
After your mandatory ‘cooling off’ period, we’ll get in touch with your existing supplier to tell them you're switching to us.

We’ll let you know your switchover date
If you’re wondering when your energy supplier will be switched, it’s normally between four and six weeks from when you signed up, depending on your existing supplier.

Step 3 - Provide a meter reading

Meter read

We’ll get in touch around the switchover date to ask you for a meter reading
This reading enables you to calculate your energy consumption from the date we have taken over.

You don’t need to send your reading to your previous supplier
We’ll do that for you.

Congratulations, you’re all switched over!

Step 4 - We collect your first payment

We collect your first Direct Debit payment soon after the switchover date. After that, we’ll send you quarterly statements.
