PPA pricing

We offer different priced contracts based on length of contract, size of site, export quantity, technology, location of site and the current market conditions.

Some contracts will offer fixed prices for the term, and others will vary according to market conditions.

RO Scheme

The RO scheme places an obligation on UK electricity suppliers to source an increasing proportion of the electricity they sell, from renewable sources.

If you have opted for this scheme, you will receive certificates from OFGEM called ROCs for the renewable electricity you generate. You can then trade these ROCs and receive payment for them. ROCs are used by electricity suppliers to demonstrate that we met our renewable obligation.

REGO Scheme

REGO stands for Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin. OFGEM issues one certificate per megawatt hour (MWh) of eligible renewable output to the generators of renewable electricity. The purpose of the certificate is to prove to the final customer that the energy was produced from renewable sources. The number of REGOs an electricity supplier has is used to determine their annual  Fuel Mix Disclosure percentage.

Depending on the PPA contract, these REGOs can be transferred to an electricity supplier in exchange for a monetary value. Other contracts may include this value within the export price.

Feed-in Tariffs

On 18 December 2018 legislation was laid in Parliament to have the effect of closing the FIT scheme to new applicants from 1 April 2019. If you would like to make an application before the closure of this scheme, you will need to do so by 31 March 2019. See the full closure announcement from Ofgem here.

FIT scheme FAQs can be found here.

What is a Feed-in Tariff?

The Feed-in Tariff scheme is a government scheme introduced to increase the uptake of renewable energy technologies. Customers can apply to receive payments for the electricity that they generate and export.

How do I switch my Feed-in Tariff to you?

In order to switch your Feed-in Tariff payments to Co-operative Energy you will need to complete Pages 1-5 of our Feed-in Tariff application form and return it with photocopies or scans of:

•Proof of Identity (driving licence, passport or National ID card)

•MCS certificate (provides proof that your generation unit is MCS certified and therefore eligible for FIT payments)

•Proof of ownership of the generation unit (invoice or sale and purchase agreement or commissioning certificate)

Feed-in Tariff generation

You will receive Feed-in Tariff payments quarterly for the electricity your installation has generated and exported.

Feed-in Tariff export

There are three options available when deciding which type of export payments you can receive:

1.We offer deemed export up to 30kWh (which is 50% of the generation and this price is dictated by Secretary of State)
2.We can offer metered export if meter is in place (same rate as deemed export, the only difference being is that the meter provides actual export readings)
3.We can set up a PPA (please refer to PPA information above)

A reading must be provided for your generation meter and (if you have one) your export meter between 16th-31st March, 16th-30th June, 16th-30 September and 16th -31st December during the tariff lifetime.

Statements are generated and payments are made normally within 6-8 weeks of the relevant meter reading dates as set out above.
