Co-operative Energy has scooped the Best Energy Provider Award at the Consumer Moneyfacts Awards 2012. The new energy provider picked up the award following its pledge to offer transparency on profits, clear bills and a simple tariff for new and loyal customers. The ethical energy provider was voted the best energy provider by consumers via an online survey, ahead of a shortlist of seven contenders including Big Six, EDF, e.on and npower.
