Co-operative Energy's response to the Government's best deal agreement

Nigel Mason of Co-operative Energy said:  “If 7 out of 10 customers are on the wrong tariff for their needs, and if the big energy suppliers can identify this with enough accuracy to be able to write to their customers informing them of a better tariff, why not just put customers on the better tariff straight away? Why wait? This proposal looks as though it’s tip-toeing around the Big 6 who are being allowed to continue to exploit the apathy of most people and once again relies on customers doing all the running to get the best deal.”
