Comment from Co-operative Energy on the speech made by Caroline Flint, Climate Change Secretary at the Labour Party Conference

Posted on 2 October 2012

Nigel Mason, Business Development Manager for Co-operative Energy said: “We wholeheartedly welcome the SwitchTogether campaign. Collective buying is at the heart of the co-operative business model and we know it is a very powerful way for consumers to harness their combined buying power and get a better deal. “By buying energy on behalf of many people, Labour will be able to ensure cheaper gas and electricity bills for thousands of consumers, especially those who are paying too much. Following our success in the Big Switch, the UK’s first large scale collective buying scheme, we are well aware of the benefits for consumers. “We want the principle of collective buying to become part of everyday life for consumers and through campaigns like SwitchTogether we can make this happen and ensure a better deal for all.”
