Here at Co-operative Energy we are committed to lowering carbon emissions. We already purchase much of our energy from renewable sources but we believe with your help we can do even better.

Following the success of last year’s event, Co-operative Energy is pleased be hosting its second Community Energy conference on Saturday 13th September 2014. Contributing to the national energy mix, community energy schemes continue to make important advances within the UK. The number of community energy projects has grown to more than 5,000 in the last five years with new projects coming on-board every day.

From collective switching schemes helping people buy energy more cheaply, to community-owned wind farms generating local jobs and revenue, from neighbourhoods joining forces to buy energy or insulate their homes to community advice schemes helping consumers save energy and money, community energy projects come in many shapes and sizes. These projects are not only helping to improve the local environment, but by bringing people together are making renewable energy more accessible and affordable.

Co-operative Energy has been working closely with specialists from across the industry to help support this important movement. Through the assistance of a strong network, the conference will give Community Energy groups access to the support they need; from planning, financing and selecting the best technology, to marketing, launching ownership models and ensuring the community really benefits from renewable energy.

The conference has been designed to cater for everyone from the complete beginner in Community Energy to the seasoned practitioner. We want everyone who attends to walk away with new knowledge, new contacts and new ideas.

So whether you are new to the community energy arena, already active or fully ensconced, why not come along to join like-minded people for what we know will be an inspirational and informative event.

The conference is being held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Birmingham. Its central location and excellent transport links make it an ideal location for this gathering. We will shortly be releasing details of the key players from across the industry who have kindly agreed to speak at the conference.

Spaces are limited so if you’d like to ensure your place at this year’s event and benefit from a special reduced rate click here.
