Co-operative Energy Saving

Posted on 21 September 2016

Co-operative Energy Saving is an exciting brand new initiative launched by Co-operative Energy, part of The Midcounties Co-operative. Our aim is to help protect the environment and combat climate change by helping members and customers reduce their energy consumption.

Our launch

We listened to our members who wanted us to care about the environment and protect it from the threats posed by climate change. And at this year’s AGM, we introduced Co-operative Energy Saving, designed to tackle climate change for a better future. We will also help members generate their own energy from renewable resources.

Our vision

We will be transparent in presenting information and options to our customers as we want them to make informed decisions that are right for them.

We promise to

• Have fair prices

• Share our profits

• Keep it simple

• Be open and honest

• Source the best renewable energy solutions in the market

We will offer the following services to help our customers tackle climate change:

• We will help our members and customers reduce their energy bills in their homes by offering energy saving advice and smart technology

•Our new online shop will provide customers the chance to purchase energy efficient LED bulbs, which use much less energy than standard or halogen bulbs - providing big savings. Soon, we will add more products that customers can install themselves.

• If the customer prefers to leave DIY tasks to the experts, they have the option to book an engineer, who will visit their home and install our online energy efficient products. We provide a professional renewable energy service for all the larger jobs, such as; installing Insulation, solar panels and batteries, biomass boilers or heat pumps. All our engineers are fully MCS accredited and Green Deal approved

• We work with various Government funding schemes, such as ECO subsidies, the Feed in Tariff and the Renewable Heat Incentive.

• We actively support community energy generation

All these schemes provide financial assistance to help customers with the initial cost of their project or to improve its return after installation.

We believe our goal demonstrates our real commitment to helping create a more environmentally friendly, fairer and sustainable world.
