Celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight

Posted on 22 March 2016

And saying thank you to the people who grow and produce Fairtrade products all over the world

The Fairtrade movement is all about supporting small-scale farmers and workers – with better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade.

Celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight is just another way of saying ‘thank you’ to the people who grow and produce Fairtrade products all over the world. It’s held at the start of March – and as part of the Midcounties Co-operative, we’re more than happy to join the annual celebrations here at Co-operative Energy. In fact, in 1992 the Co-operative was the first mainstream retailer to support Fairtrade.

Our stores still stock an extensive range of Fairtrade products all year round. Visit your local Co-operative Food to see what’s on offer, and feel better about where your food comes from.
