Billy Morton, a Co-operative Energy’s customer relations adviser, has made it to the final 16 of the British Open and final 64 of the European Open pool championships.
Featuring in The Times 100 Best Big Companies to Work For 2014, it is a prime aim of Co-operative Energy to support our colleagues in both their professional and personal achievements and we will be sponsoring Billy in his competitions.
Billy enthusiastically told us: “Having only taken up the sport 5 years ago, I have gone from strength-to-strength; playing for a local team in local matches, to representing my county at national finals to making my England debut at the Nations Cup in February this year.
“I have been offered the opportunity to turn professional on the International Pool Association tour (IPA), which would include Top 32 seeding at the world championship in February 2016. My professional pool career will only be part-time and I will continue to work at Co-operative Energy as I represent my country.
“I am extremely proud to work for Co-operative Energy and it will be an honour to represent my company as I do my country. The events I’ll be taking part in are all very diverse with both male and female competitors aged between 15 and 50 years of age. I will be proud to promote our values and our ethics as I take part.”
In his spare time, Billy is also hoping to complete some pool coaching for kids in the local area. His volunteering will be further supported by Co-operative Energy as part of an ongoing drive to invest back into local communities.
Co-operative Energy wishes Billy the best of luck in his competition. We’ll be sure to keep all customers and colleagues updated on Billy’s progress.
